Client Background:

A Building Complex approached The Waterproofer the right solution to watertight their 800m2 Torchon Roof. Previous patching attempts had failed to solve the widespread leakage issues.

Challenges:

Persistent leaks were damaging the building, and previous patches hadn’t worked effectively.

Solution:

The Waterproofer took a comprehensive approach. They first repaired all existing leaks in the torchon roof. Then, we applied a thick multi-coat liquid membrane coating to prevent future leaks.

Process:

1. Leak Repair: The Waterproofer opened up the membrane, thoroughly dried out the affected areas, and addressed all leaks.

2. Membrane Coating: Applied a multi-coat liquid membrane system across the entire roof for robust waterproofing.

3. Anchor Point Installation: To facilitate future maintenance work, new plinths and harness anchor points were installed onto the roof. Torchon was applied over these areas, followed by the liquid membrane coating to ensure a seamless system.

Outcome
In addressing the leaks in a comprehensive way rather than more patchwork, The Waterproofer restored the roof’s integrity. The building complex regained a full, continuous weatherproof blanket, providing reliable protection against future leaks and damage. The installation of anchor points further enhanced the building’s accessibility for maintenance work, ensuring its longevity and value.
