Ramp & Deck Trafficable Liquid Membrane – Auckland CBD
The Waterproofer was called in to help an apartment complex in the city with its watertightness issues in a few building areas. One of these areas was a slippery ramp which posed a safety hazard for residents accessing the rubbish room. Another was a leaking tiled deck on the topmost floor.
The ramp’s slippery surface made it dangerous for pedestrians, and the concrete surface had deteriorated over time. The Deck was actively leaking into the unit on the floor below, with previous leak attempts failing.
Revamped Ramp & Deck Restoration! To restore safety and functionality of both areas, The Waterproofer proposed a refurbishment plan tailored to the client’s needs.
1. Substrate Preparation: Tiles and all membranes underneath were demolished and removed, and the deck was ground back to bare concrete. The Waterproofer then screeded the area to give proper fall. The uneven surface of the ramp was ground back to restore a clean, even finish.
2. Concrete Priming: The surfaces were primed for better adhesion of the waterproofing system.
3. Membrane Application: A durable liquid membrane system was applied to the ramp and deck, with aggregate for grip.
4. Top Coat: A protective top coat was added for durability and aesthetics.
THE WATERPROOFER has the expertise you need to restore safety and usability to high-traffic areas.
